Lauren “Los Angeles” doesn’t see why ambition has to fit neatly into one box.

Her world moves between medicine and media, beauty and business, Los Angeles and the Caribbean. Now based in Antigua and Barbuda, she is pursuing a career as a physician while building businesses and sharing the lifestyle, travel, and cultural experiences that come with the life she has created.

For Lauren, those aren't separate pursuits. The goal is to find a way for all of them to exist together.

“I don't want to choose between being a physician, an entrepreneur, and a creator. I want to build a career that allows all of those identities to coexist.”

Finding the story in everyday life

Content creation wasn't initially a carefully mapped-out career for Lauren.

Her interests in fashion, beauty, photography, production and storytelling made documenting her experiences feel natural. Social media became the place where those interests came together.

Over time, she became more intentional about telling the story behind the experiences—the work, businesses, and ambitions alongside the lifestyle. That range has become central to her content.

“I’m not just creating beauty content or travel content or medical content. I’m a woman in medicine, an entrepreneur, a beauty enthusiast, and someone who has built a life between the United States, Mexico, and the Caribbean.”

It's also why she doesn't want aspiration to mean perfection.

“I want people to see the beauty and excitement in my lifestyle while also seeing the work, ambition, and real-life experiences behind it.”

Building beyond the content

Lauren's entrepreneurial ambitions have increasingly become part of what she shares online.

She founded HUZE Beauty Lab and Azul Mas, a Caribbean-inspired Carnival and lifestyle brand. Content has helped her introduce those businesses to an audience while also opening doors to brand collaborations, promotional work, and international event partnerships.

But it's the opportunities where her different interests intersect that excite her most.

Azul Mas is one example. The brand brings together her interest in beauty, entrepreneurship and Caribbean Carnival culture, while also connecting her with creatives in the region.

In Antigua, that community has become an important part of her experience.

She points to Soca artist and friend Fully Drastic as one of the Caribbean creatives who inspires her. When she launched Azul Mas Carnival, he supported the project and allowed her to use his song “Naturally” in the company's launch video.

“I really appreciate having people in the Caribbean creative community who support each other and genuinely want to see each other succeed.”

Lauren's work has also begun attracting attention beyond her own platforms. Caribbean Collective Magazine recently featured her and the story behind Azul Mas, exploring how she is building the Carnival brand and its connection to Caribbean culture. She has also been featured by VoyageLA, where she discussed her work with the Coalition of Black Men Physicians and its efforts to support and create opportunities for future Black physicians.

Measuring success differently

For someone building across so many areas, Lauren isn't particularly interested in reducing success to a follower count.

“Success to me is influence rather than simply numbers.”

She thinks about that influence in practical ways: someone discovering a new place because of her content, supporting a Caribbean business, feeling more confident, or becoming inspired to pursue medicine or entrepreneurship themselves.

“If I can create opportunities for myself while also creating opportunities for other people, that feels like real success.”

That idea extends beyond her businesses and online presence.

As Lauren works toward becoming a physician, she also wants her career to contribute to increasing workforce diversity. She hopes to continue advocating and fundraising for the Coalition of Black Men Physicians while expanding the businesses and organizations she has already begun building.

Ultimately, she isn't working toward one conventional definition of what her career should look like.

She is building one that makes room for all of it.

For Lauren, success isn't about deciding which part of herself gets to take the lead. It's about creating a life where none of them has to be left behind.
