How Guyana's Soca Princess Is Building Her Brand Through Content

For Omaiah Hall, music has always been a way of life.

Known as the "Soca Princess of Guyana," Omaiah grew up in a family of musicians, making performing a natural part of her journey from an early age. While she has been singing for as long as she can remember, it was about five years ago that she began pursuing soca music, dedicating herself fully to the genre over the past three years.

That commitment has already led to major milestones. Omaiah is the 2025 Guyana Road March Champion, a former Junior Calypso Monarch, and a radio host. She has also performed across several Caribbean islands, proudly representing Guyana with every opportunity.

As her music career grew, Omaiah realized that today's artists have to do more than perform.

"As artists, we're also marketing personnel," she says.

That realization pushed her to embrace content creation as a way to connect with her audience and grow her brand. What started as promoting her music soon opened the door to collaborations with businesses that recognized the value of her authenticity, a journey she says she has no intention of slowing down.

For Omaiah, standing out has never been about following trends.

"The only way to be different is to be you," she says.

That mindset has helped her build genuine connections with her audience. For Omaiah, the most meaningful moments aren't awards or milestones, they're the everyday interactions back home in Guyana. Whether someone recognizes her on the street, tells her they bought a product because of her recommendation, switched brands because of her influence, or simply shares that their children love her music, those moments remind her that her work is making a real impact.

Looking ahead, Omaiah has her sights set on something even bigger. She hopes to become one of the first Guyanese creatives to appear on the Forbes list, grace international magazine covers, and earn the same global recognition as today's biggest international stars.

For Omaiah, those milestones aren't just personal achievements, they're an opportunity to show the world what's possible for creatives from Guyana.
