Building a Life That Feels True: A Caribbean Creator's Journey

Long before content creation became a career, Cyanna was already documenting her life online.
She remembers sharing photos and videos during the days of Hi5 and Tagged, simply because she enjoyed being in front of the camera and expressing herself. As social media evolved, so did the way she shared her life. What began as something she did for fun eventually became a platform where women connected with her personality, experiences, and perspective.
Born in Dominica and now based in Houston, Cyanna spent her childhood between the Caribbean and the United States. That experience continues to shape both her perspective and the stories she shares today.
Her platform brings together beauty, travel, motherhood, home, femininity, Caribbean culture, and everyday life. Rather than narrowing herself to one carefully defined niche, she allows each part of her identity to exist naturally within her work.
“I’m not trying to fit my life into one niche. My Caribbean identity is naturally part of who I am, but my content is also beauty, motherhood, travel, home, culture, femininity and everyday life.”
That balance is intentional. Cyanna wants Caribbean women to recognize themselves in her content while creating stories that women from any background can relate to. Her culture remains central, but it does not limit the experiences she shares or the audience she hopes to reach.
The most meaningful part of creating has been realizing that her personal journey can encourage someone else.
After immigrating to the United States, becoming a mother, and later navigating single motherhood, Cyanna had to build a life that did not always follow the path she originally imagined. Still, she refused to let those experiences stop her from pursuing her goals, finding joy, and creating a life she could be proud of.
Through her platform, she hopes to show other women that an unexpected chapter does not have to define the rest of their story. Life may change, plans may shift, and challenges may arise, but there is still room to thrive, pursue your goals, and create a future that feels true to you.
That message is especially meaningful to Caribbean women who don't always see their experiences reflected online.
Today, her ambitions extend far beyond sharing moments from her daily life. Cyanna wants to grow internationally, collaborate with brands and destinations she genuinely connects with, and bring Caribbean culture with her as new opportunities emerge.
Her vision is rooted in a simple but powerful belief: where someone begins should never determine how far they can go.
She also finds inspiration in creators such as Kristy Sarah, whose personality, humor, and ability to balance motherhood, travel, and creativity reflect the kind of freedom Cyanna values in her own life. What resonates with her most is seeing another woman build a successful platform without losing sight of who she is.
For Cyanna, success isn't simply about building an audience. It's about building a platform that encourages women to embrace every part of who they are and to believe that their circumstances do not define their future.
“I want women to know that where you come from doesn’t limit where you can go.”
