Spinny: The Barbadian Creator Turning Caribbean Culture Into a Global Fitness Movement

For Spinny, fitness has never been just about burning calories. Through Cultural Cardio, the Barbadian creator has built a movement that blends Soca music, Caribbean dance, and high-energy workouts into an experience that celebrates both physical and mental well-being.

A fitness instructor, entertainer, host, content creator, and self-described "Wuk-Up Artist," Spinny is on a mission to prove that fitness doesn't have to feel like a chore, and that Caribbean culture belongs at the center of it.

Reflecting on how it all began, he explains:

"I originally started creating content as a way to market my Cultural Cardio sessions. Social media was the most effective way to get people to see what I was doing, but I knew I couldn't just promote classes. I had to make the content fun, creative and entertaining. As the content grew, so did the community, and it became a way to inspire people to move, smile, and embrace Caribbean culture."

Today, Cultural Cardio has become much more than a workout program. It's a fitness experience built around celebration, community, and Caribbean identity.

"I don't just teach fitness; I create an experience. Cultural Cardio combines Soca music, Caribbean dance, comedy, motivation, and high-energy workouts into one package. My classes feel more like a celebration than a workout, which makes fitness accessible to people of all ages and fitness levels. Everything I create proudly represents Barbados and the wider Caribbean."

One of Spinny's proudest achievements has been watching an idea born in Barbados grow into an international movement.

"There have been many incredible milestones, but one of the most meaningful has been seeing Cultural Cardio grow from a small class in Barbados into an international movement. Teaching in countries across the world while hearing people from different cultures embrace something that was born in Barbados is something I'll never take for granted. Reaching millions of people online and using my platform to inspire healthier lifestyles has been an incredible blessing."

Looking ahead, Spinny wants to take both Caribbean fitness and Caribbean culture to even bigger stages.

"My biggest goal is to make Cultural Cardio a globally recognized fitness brand that represents the Caribbean on the world stage. I want to use fitness to take Soca into spaces it has never been before because fitness is a universal language that connects people all over the world. Through international tours, partnerships and community initiatives, I hope to inspire healthier lifestyles while showcasing the energy and culture of the Caribbean."

He also credits fellow Barbadian creator Certified Sampson as someone who continues to inspire him.

"His work ethic is on another level. The consistency, creativity, and effort he puts into his content is something I really admire. Watching his journey reminds me that success isn't just about talent; it's about showing up every day and putting in the work."

At a time when wellness content often follows global trends, Spinny has built something distinctly Caribbean. By combining fitness with Soca, dance, and the energy of Caribbean festivals, he's created a brand that feels authentic to the region while resonating with audiences around the world. With nearly five million followers across platforms and a growing international community, Cultural Cardio has become more than a fitness program—it's a Caribbean-born movement showing how culture, music, and wellness can inspire people around the globe.
